Directions (Simple) You
will find this process rewardingly simple as compared to other quilt hanger installations you may have tried!
1. Read application instructions on removable adhesive strips shown below.
2. Choose a location that you
would like to display a quilt and determine if it is suitable for mounting removable adhesive strips. Determine height and
center of desired location and make note of it (pencil mark, wallpaper feature).
3. Using two removable adhesive mounting
strips, apply one to the back of white mounting plate about 2 inches from each end. Remove red adhesive liner and firmly press in place on the
back of the mounting plate. (Fig. 1)
4. Locate chosen location on wall and firmly attach white metal plate horizontally
and centered on noted spot. Press firmly to secure! (Fig. 2)
5. Install metal rod in rod pocket on quilt, adjust
for length. A little shorter is better. (Fig. 3)
6. Introduce quilt with metal rod installed to black magnets on
mounting plate. WOW! (Fig. 4)
7. Stand back and look at quilt. If it’s
not level, firmly slide one magnet or the other slightly up or down to adjust to level. ENJOY!
Directions (Not as Simple)
1. The metal
plate has holes provided if you wish to install your hanger using screws. Determine your desired location’s height
and center. Using this location, hold mounting plate horizontally on wall. Mark wall through holes in mounting plate.
2. Choose appropriate screws or hardware dependent on surface type (drywall, plaster, brick, stone, etc.). This hardware
is not included as there is much variety. Drill holes and screw plate to wall.
3. Continue with Step 5 above.
Instructions for Hanging Very Large or Heavy Quilts
You will need two mounting
plates to mount very large quilts, as well as a steel rod that extends the width of your quilt. There are many commonly
available rods such as long metal shelf stays (painted white) or tension rods work great. How to use INSTA-SLEEVETM IRON-ON Rod Pocket Remember,
the preferred method is a rod pocket that is integral to the quilt (sewn-on), but this works great for many routine quilt
hanging applications. Always test in an inconspicuous area or on scrap fabric first! Cut the
length of sleeve to fit your quilt or wall hanging. Place strip in position and cover with damp press cloth. With
iron set at medium steam, press firmly on strip for 10-15 seconds. Using a lifting and overlapping motion, continue
in one direction across pocket strip. Let cool, and it's ready to use. If you wish to remove the strip, repeat
heating process, lifting strip gently from fabric. NOTE: Adhesive residue may remain on fabric after sleeve
removal.
